GCR & Associates was presented with the "Technology Renaissance Award" by the Louisiana Technology Council at its 4th Annual Technology eWard Gala held in New Orleans. The event recognizes the achievements of organizations and individuals who have furthered the technological development of the New Orleans region for the past year.

GCR & Associates was honored for its development of a geographically-based Decision Support System, a secure web-based application which collects data by address in neighborhoods throughout the New Orleans region. Data is accumulated for all properties to provide a comprehensive and accurate profile of recovery activity by neighborhood. Information such as post-Katrina photographs, building permits, utility utilization, and condition of the structure is included.

"By having comprehensive information in a single location, private and public agencies are better able to plan capital investments, system repairs, and service objectives," said GCR's CEO Greg Rigamer. "GCR's new system includes a robust data management and integrated GIS capability so reports, images, and maps can be produced on demand."

Since the system is built upon the U.S. Census Bureau grid,
it can be deployed in other areas throughout Louisiana or communities throughout the United States in response to natural or man-made disasters.
